Asheville, NC. Holston Gases new $1million dollar facility in the Little River district along the Swannanoa River near the Biltmore village is gearing up for dramatic growth.
May 7, 2013 – ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Asheville, NC. Holston Gases new $1million dollar facility in the Little River district along the Swannanoa River near the Biltmore village is gearing up for dramatic growth.
The new facility opened on December 17th, 2012, providing a better retail and service location and filling center. “We held our first open house on April 16th this year and had over 250 visitors.
Since our opening and the open house we have already experienced a large increase in traffic and retail sales” commented Randy McKinny, Branch Manager of Asheville. “Our new location and the vision of Holston establish us to become the premier supplier of Gas and services to Western North Carolina”.
Holston looked at over 25 locations in Western North Carolina, before purchasing the facility on Thompson St. They purchased the facility from the Westall Chandley Lumber Company, a 100 year old lumber company, in September 2012. “The adage – Location, Location, Location rings true. We could not have chosen a better place. We have a fantastic office as well as large retail space, filling center, and 11,000 square foot warehouse, we are better able to not only serve our clients, but also enable our suppliers’ products to be better showcased. Our new facility has a 30,000 gallon propane tank, and a 30 ton CO2 unit. We currently serve twelve breweries in WNC, and look forward to serving the new breweries moving in.”
The new facility also contains new signage that reflects the strength and character of Holston. “We needed new signs that matched Holston’s image and crisp, sharp logo” that is representative of the professionally executed performance Holston executes for its customers. The team at Asheville SIGNARAMA nailed it perfectly. I had begun to get to know Ed & Arlene Sullivan, the owners of Asheville SIGNARAMA, and so when I asked them if they could provide us a quote, we were pleased not only with the price, but their entire service. From start to finish they were professional and prompt and they delivered a great product. We have more signs on order and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with them.”
Randy’s passion is contagious and reflected across his team. “I was a second generation owner of McKinney Welding and as I had no children we decided to sell our family business. I wanted a company who had the same ethics and vision I had along with the commitment to the community. Holston has more than proven this to not only me but to all of my previous employees, along with new ones we are hiring as we grow; but more importantly to our customers and suppliers. Holston is the 4th or 5th largest independent supplier of gas in the USA and it is easy to see why. We can handle any requirement our customers have in the products of our industry. So come on by and let us serve you.”
